The Felyx project was presented at the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) Conference on "Serving Society with Geoinformatics (11-17th November, 2013, Antalya, Turkey). Attending the conference were the Director of the Group on Earth Observations (Barbara Ryan) and representatives from the ESA Copernicus and the EC Copernicus offices and Google, to mention a few.  Also at the conference was the entire ISPRS International Policy Advisory Committe(IPAC) and a whole day was devoted to discussing data policy issues, frameworks, access, and tools in the context of 'big data' and 'big data' processing.

There was considerable interest in the Felyx project particularly with reference to the access and processing of ESA datasets, and the ability to share data and results amongst users/workstations.  The largely terrestrial (land based) remote sensing community, which included several key players at the national level, were also keen to discover the applicability of Felyx to the non-marine environment and whether there were plans to extend Felyx to other datasets.  This was particularly opportune as attendees had a) just been informed of the EU decision to allow Sentinel data to be available for free (12/11/2013) and b) already discussed as a topic the vast volume of data that would be available from the sentinels so there was interest as to whether Felyx could be used as a convenient tool to simplify access and the use of these data.

Overall, the conference was an ideal forum to publicise the potential of the Felyx HR-DDS.
