felyx reference baseline document is now available!

Written by

We are happy to make available to people having interest in felyx the Reference Baseline of the project, i.e. the scientific and technical requirements baseline the project will rely on. The scope of this document is a critical review of initial project requirements, and of the further input collected after project kick-off from a core group of identified users.

The initial project requirements were :

  • the requirements given in ESA Statement of Work
  • a list of relevant heritage systems
  • the system demonstration boundaries defined by ESA

The users who have been interviewed to formulate this document include staff from ESA and our consortium, as well as representatives of external communities (e.g. AATSR quality WG, GHRSST, O&SI SAF). They represent the core of the project Reference User Group (RUG).

This document reports the process used and results derived from the analysis of the above mentioned requirements, and the selection of project requirements. In particular it provides :

  • an insight into relevant heritage systems, considered key to felyx development,
  • a survey of potential users (core part of the project RUG),
  • an analysis of their responses to selected use cases of felyx, and feedback,
  • a detailed analysis and selection of project requirements, including their priority.

Next steps and conclusions are drawn in the last chapter.

Overall, this document represents the main reference to derive project technical specifications and requirements for data access.
